The function of noise reduction is very important for the headset. One is to reduce noise and avoid excessive amplification of the volume, so as to reduce the damage to the ear. The second is to filter noise to improve sound quality and call quality.
Noise reduction can be divided into passive and active noise reduction.
Passive noise reduction is also physical noise reduction, passive noise reduction refers to the use of physical characteristics to isolate the external noise from the ear, mainly through the design of the headband of the headset tighter, acoustic optimization of the ear muffs cavity, the ear muffs inside the sound absorption materials and so on to achieve the physical sound insulation of headsets. Passive noise reduction is very effective in isolating high frequency sounds (such as human voice), and generally reduces noise by about 15-20dB.
Active noise reduction is the main noise reduction technology ANC, ENC, CVC, DSP and so on when merchants promote the noise reduction function of headsets.
ANC noise reduction
ANC Active Noise Control (Active Noise Control) works on the principle that the microphone collects the external ambient noise, and then the system transforms it into an inverted sound wave and adds it to the horn end. The final sound heard by the human ear is: Ambient noise + contra-phase ambient noise, two kinds of noise superimposed to achieve sensory noise reduction, the beneficiary is oneself.
Active noise reduction can be divided into feedforward active noise reduction and feedback active noise reduction according to different positions of the pickup microphone.
ENC noise reduction
ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) is an effective cancellation of 90% of the ambient noise reversal, thereby reducing the ambient noise to a maximum of 35dB, allowing players to communicate more freely by voice. Through the dual microphone array, the precise calculation of the speaker’s position, while protecting the main direction target speech, remove all kinds of interference noise in the environment.
DSP noise reduction
DSP is short for digital signal processing. Mainly for high and low frequency noise. The idea is that the microphone picks up noise from the external environment, and then the system copies a reverse sound wave that is equal to the ambient noise, cancelling out the noise and achieving better noise reduction. The principle of DSP noise reduction is similar to ANC noise reduction. However, the positive and negative noise of DSP cancels each other directly in the system.
CVC noise reduction
Clear Voice Capture (CVC) is a voice software noise reduction technology. Mainly for the echo generated during the call. The full-duplex microphone noise cancellation software provides call echo and ambient noise cancellation functions, which is the most advanced noise reduction technology among Bluetooth phone headsets.
DSP technology (eliminating external noise) mainly benefits the headset user, while CVC (eliminating echo) mainly benefits the other side of the conversation.
